This Privacy Policy applies to the YTSummary - Youtube Summary Android application (Google Play package ID: com.reflectivalabs.youtubesummarizer), developed and published by Abhishek Meher.

By downloading or using YTSummary - Youtube Summary, you agree to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and discontinue use.

3 Advertising ID & Analytics

Advertising ID (AD_ID): Our app collects the Android Advertising ID (GAID) via the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission. This ID is used solely for analytics and app performance measurement through Firebase Analytics. We do not use it to serve advertisements, and we do not share it with third-party advertising networks.

The Advertising ID is used specifically to:

Measure overall app engagement and feature usage patterns in aggregate.
Understand install attribution to improve our Google Play Store presence.
Power Firebase Analytics event reporting to track feature adoption.

YTSummary - Youtube Summary does not display advertisements. The Advertising ID is used exclusively for analytics, not for ad serving or targeted advertising.

You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalization at any time via your Android device: Settings → Privacy → Ads.

4 How We Use Your Data

Data collected by YTSummary - Youtube Summary is used for the following purposes only:

App Functionality: Enabling Google Sign-In, managing subscriptions, and delivering AI-generated video summaries.
Analytics: Measuring feature adoption, session length, and identifying crashes to improve the product experience.
Security: Firebase App Check verifies that requests originate from the legitimate app, preventing abuse.
Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) may deliver optional push notifications about new features or important updates.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond what is described in this policy.

5 Third-Party Services

YTSummary - Youtube Summary integrates with the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase (Auth, Analytics, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, App Check) — Firebase Privacy
Google Sign-In / Google Play Services — Google Privacy Policy
RevenueCat (in-app subscription management) — RevenueCat Privacy Policy
Google Gemini AI / OpenRouter (AI summary generation, only when user provides an API key) — governed by the respective provider's terms.
YouTube Data API v3 — subject to Google Privacy Policy.

6 YouTube API Services

YTSummary - Youtube Summary uses the YouTube Data API v3 to retrieve publicly available video transcripts for summarization. By using our app, you also agree to:

We only access transcript data for videos you explicitly submit for summarization. We do not retain YouTube video metadata on our servers beyond the immediate session.

7 Data Retention & Deletion

Data is retained as follows:

Account data: Retained for as long as you maintain a YTSummary - Youtube Summary account.
Local data (transcripts, summaries, app preferences): Stored on your device and automatically removed when you uninstall the app.
Analytics data: Retained per Firebase Analytics data retention settings (default: 14 months).
Crash logs: Retained per Firebase Crashlytics settings (default: 90 days).

You may request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data via our Account Deletion page or by contacting us at devaskbiz@gmail.com. We will process requests within 30 days.

8 Children's Privacy

YTSummary - Youtube Summary is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at devaskbiz@gmail.com and we will take prompt steps to delete it.

9 Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your account and associated data (right to be forgotten).
Opt out of analytics data collection (via Android Advertising ID settings).
Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format.

10 Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

All network communication uses HTTPS / TLS encryption.
User-supplied API keys are stored in encrypted Android EncryptedSharedPreferences.
Firebase App Check protects backend API access from unauthorized requests.
Firebase Authentication enforces secure, token-based session management.

11 Changes to This Policy
